Why inspect a production workstation?

Most losses on the shop floor start with small things: a missing tool, material left in a walkway, an illegible marking. A short daily check catches them before they turn into downtime or an accident.

Checking the same points regularly also makes results comparable — you see which workstations hold the standard and which need support.

The list works well as a simplified 5S audit: sort, set in order, shine, standardise and sustain are reflected in the successive questions.
