Store opening checklist

A sample checklist to complete before opening a store. It covers building security, till readiness, displays and pricing, sales-floor cleanliness and the back office.

Store managers and shift leaders use it. Done daily at the same time, it structures the morning and levels the standard across locations.

Move this checklist into Varilo

A paper checklist is only the beginning. In Varilo you can build your own version, assign it to a place, machine, vehicle or device and share it through a QR code or NFC tag.

The employee scans the code with a phone, completes the inspection and the results go straight into the system. You can track completed inspections, findings, reports and statistics without retyping paper forms.

  1. Build the checklist

  2. Assign QR or NFC

  3. Run the inspection

  4. Get the report

Why keep a fixed opening checklist?

The morning is the most repeatable and the most rushed part of the day in a store. A fixed list means the order of actions does not depend on who happens to open.

It is also a simple way to level the standard across a chain — every location completes the same set of points and leaves a record.

Opening and closing are two different lists

The opening checklist focuses on readiness to sell: tills, merchandise, prices, cleanliness. Closing is mostly about cash reconciliation and securing the premises and equipment.

Splitting them is more practical than one long list — both are shorter and actually get completed.

A digital store opening checklist

In Varilo the manager scans a QR code or taps an NFC tag by the back-office door and fills in the list on a phone. A photo of a display or damage is attached in the same step.

Head office sees which stores completed the check and which reports recur — without morning phone calls and emails.
